What’s it all about?In our quest to bring the world great socks we keep always mindful of the sacrifice of those who made this happen. No, we don’t mean our blood, sweat and tears, which count for something to our moms. We honor those service men and women who sacrifice their lives in the name of freedom and justice. Their pledge and honor for their fellow service members and country is unparalleled and for that we must both rock and salute them! Our pledge is the lifetime donation of 20% of all Sox Box profits to the Independence Fund, a non-profit group that directly supports the wounded ill and injured service members. Silliness abounds at the Sox Box but we remain serious in our commitment to our brothers and sisters who gave the most for their country without question. |
How did we get here?
Initially, I (the wife) was training for the fire service and turned to CrossFit in 2009. It was there where I became a crazy sock enthusiast. I was always searching for the coolest socks and more importantly ones that fit around my thick calves! Oh the muscles. I then stumbled across the most comfortable pair and decided they were missing something...words that represented the strong Crossfit men and women of Monterey and all around the world! Soon I was dreaming of 'THICK CHICK' socks. Why? Because proudly I say...I'll never be a weak chick!
I (the husband) enjoyed the idea of catalyzing my wife’s creative side and transforming the world in the process. Being a 12 year military service veteran and having the honor of serving with an elite group of warfighters, I realized that our business allowed us the ability to make the world a better place while having a direct positive impact on my military brothers and sisters.
Socks without words are boring and unloved so we unleashed the Sox Box and racked up lotsa neat sayings for our first line! After searching far and wide for the best quality socks, we found our friends and take pride in them being made in the USA. The words and colors of our socks take many forms that, we hope, will bring oodles of joy to your legs and their admirers. For every person there is a sock and for every sock a person… we trust that we may be able to match you with that special pair to fulfill your most rudimentary need.
